Singer-songwriter Diana Kroll had always been fascinated with bossa nova, a genre of music that is perfectly in sync with her sensuous and sophisticated style of singing. Her style was uniquely prominent in “Quiet Nights” (her studio album which was released by Verve in the spring of 2009). Along with her orchestra and band, Krall gives one of her most scintillating performances in the concert filmed in Rio de Janeiro, the abode of the bossa nova, in Nov, 2008. In spite of staying true to the real style of bossa nova, her performance also bears her individual stamp.
