After struggling with his habit of drinking and unending blackouts, Carty Fox chooses a more sober life and tries to return to normalcy so that he can pull himself out of the gloomy world of addiction. He has no clue as to how a normal life looks and how to reconnect with his son and unsatisfied wife. But the answer to that comes to him in the form of a message scribbled on a twenty dollar note. This message begins to intrigue him, gripping him into the world of obsession much to the displeasure of his friends and family. It is this obsession that ultimately leads him to a Lynchian world of shame, anger and pain. This journey also compels him to contemplate on his life and come face to face with the person that he has kept hidden within himself in his drunken condition for all these years.
