Original Title: The Raven
Based in the 19th century, The Raven follows the story of a serial killer who is inspired by Edgar Allen Poe s poetry. He kills people by using Poe s descriptions from his published poems. Detective Fields, a Baltimore policeman teams up with Edgar Allen Poe to capture this madman in order to put an end to all the killings. As a drunkard and social outcast, Poe is flummoxed to discover that a serial killer has been using his poems to murder people and wreak havoc. When Detective Emmett Fields is called in to inspect the first murder, he notices that the crime-scene resembles a fictional short story called The Murders in the Rue Morgue . The second murder is that of Rufus Grisworld, a literary critic who was also Poe s rival. Poe notes that the murder scene resembles a scene from The Pit and the Pendulum . Poe is in love with Emily Hamilton and wants to marry her. Unfortunately, he faces an opposition from Emily's father. Things take a turn for the worse, when the serial killer manages to kidnap Emily and forces Poe to start writing columns for the newspaper describing the heinous crimes. In order to save Emily s life, Poe and Detective Fields must uncover the perpetrator s tracks as soon as possible.
